The Centro Integrado de Pilotaje de Tecnologías Mineras – CIPTEMIN, makes available the Quetena Test Field, which has a large extension and infrastructure necessary for Piloting & Validation at an industrial level, it complies with all the legal, security and technical requirements involved in blast tests.
The provision of this service seeks that both companies and entrepreneurs can test their innovations in real operational and industrial conditions, thus managing to scale them, enhancing their technological maturity and validating them so that they can be inserted into the mining ecosystem.
Permits and Certifications
The Quetena Test Field has all the necessary permits and certifications to operate, having the authorization from the DGMN (Dirección General de Movilización Nacional), it has the following documentation:
Authorization to use the test field.
Authorization habitual consumers of Explosives.
Storage authorization for explosives and accessories.
Powders (Explosives and Accessories)
There are two Containers, which are intended for the storage of explosives and detonation accessories, these meet all security requirements.
POLVORIN I: Used to store INITIATORS AND FULMINANTS
POLVORIN II: Used to store HIGH EXPLOSIVES
Technical specifications set forth in the DGNM: DCA No. 120/AD/10 of June 11, 1984.
Both Container have the same size, being 14.7015 m2 and a capacity of 39 m3.
JOINT CAPACITY: 9,126 Kg eq. 60% dynamite.
Registered in the DGMN, legalized by DS 77 control of weapons and explosives, DS132 mining safety regulations and under law 17,798 of arms control.

Basic services
The test field has all the basic services, committees for the development of the different pilot activities and Validations, among these are:
- Drinking water.
- Solar energy.
- Paths enabled for the safe transportation of smaller vehicles (truck ¾) that connect the parking area, the test area and the powder keg.
- Parking with safety standards appropriate to the site.
- Wi-Fi (optional).
- Assess barriers to test field.
